Precision viticulture: The state of the art
World Patent Information, 2021Abstract The growth and collection of grapes or Viticulture is essential for producing various consumer products. Herein, we identified patents registered in the viticulture and wine areas, extracted specific information such as the applicant, country of origin and patent classification and analyzed the collected data. The filing frequencies and maps

Robotics for Precision Viticulture
2021Grapes are included in what are called specialty crops, fruits of high return value typically set in orchards, which account for 50% of the total value of crop production in the USA, and about 70 billion Euro per year, representing 22% of the total output value of the agricultural sector for Europe in 2014.

Virtual Environments & Precision Viticulture: A Case Study
2021 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium IGARSS, 2021The development and implementation of a virtual environment that aims to support farmers in managing their land and crops in a more sustainable way is presented in this paper. It allows both textual and 3D visualization of crop-related biophysical parameters, such as height, volume and length.

An IoT Monitoring System for Precision Viticulture
2017 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things (iThings) and IEEE Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom) and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom) and IEEE Smart Data (SmartData), 2017This article presents a hardware and software platform for remote monitoring vineyards in the Internet of Things (IoT) era. The system proposed is a Wi-Fi based wireless sensor network composed by autonomous and self-powered nodes deployed throughout a vineyard.

Precision Viticulture Using Wireless Sensor Network
2020 9th Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing (MECO), 2020This Viticulture has always, by definition, been a “precision” production: detailed knowledge of not only individual vineyards, but also each grapevine individually, provided detailed programming of work operations and production factors adapted for each parcel individually or, better said, for each part of a single parcel. The spatial variability of a

Applications of the Precision Viticulture Techniques in the Chianti District
Proceedings, 2015The diffusion of precision viticulture approach in the last decade thanks to the new achievements and developed tools, have enabled new site-specific management possibilities. The aim of this study was the evaluation of proximal surveying for monitoring and to highlight the variability within vineyards.

Metbots: Metabolomics Robots for Precision Viticulture
2019Metabolomics is paramount for precision agriculture. Knowing the metabolic state of the vine and its implication for grape quality is of outermost importance for viticulture and wine industry. The MetBots system is a metabolomics precision agriculture platform, for automated monitoring of vineyards, providing geo-referenced metabolic images that are ...

Non-destructive fluorescence sensing for applications in precision viticulture
2015 International Conference on BioPhotonics (BioPhotonics), 2015A portable fluorescence device was used for the non-destructive sensing of winegrape (Vitis vinifera L.) maturity and plant vigor, directly in the vineyard. The sensor assesses target molecules such as chlorophyll and phenolic compounds (anthocyanins and flavonols), which markedly change during fruit maturity and plant stress conditions.

Precision viticulture and advanced analytics. A short review
Food Chemistry, 2019Precision viticulture (PV) is a relatively new discipline, whose development started in the 1990s. PV aims at adjusting vineyard management to the spatial variability that naturally appears in the field in order to increase its economic and environmental sustainability. Despite the rapid growth of PV in the last two decades, there is little PV research
