PAMM, 2003AbstractIn 2002 Kotakemori et al. have reported the Modified Gauss‐Seidel method with a preconditioner (I + Smax). The convergence of the new method they investigated only for Z‐matrices, for which the new method can be superior to other iterative methods. But, in the case of H‐matrices this method can be superior to the others, too.

SIAM Journal on Scientific and Statistical Computing, 1990Preconditionings based on incomplete block odd-even cyclic reduction for the Chebyshev and conjugate gradient polynomial iterative methods have been shown to be effective for accelerating the convergence of the solution of linear systems that arise from discrete approximations of elliptic partial differential equations.

Iterative methods for solving sparse linear systems with a parallel preconditioner
International Journal of Computer Mathematics, 1992The incomplete LU factorization is one of the more effective preconditioner of the conjugate gradient-type methods in connection with the solution of large, sparse systems of linear equations. In this paper, the results obtained with the use of the level scheduling method are shown.
