Matrix-equation-based strategies for convection-diffusion equations

open access: yes, 2015
We are interested in the numerical solution of nonsymmetric linear systems arising from the discretization of convection-diffusion partial differential equations with separable coefficients and dominant convection.

Advancing Transformative Learning in Sustainability Management Education: A Systematic Review and Integrative Model

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Reversing dominant unsustainable business practices requires a fundamental shift in how business practitioners perceive and enact sustainability. Management education is crucial for preparing prospective business professionals to lead this change, yet traditional curricula often perpetuate unsustainable paradigms.

On iterative methods and implicit-factorization preconditioners for regularized saddle-point systems

open access: yes, 2005
We consider conjugate-gradient like methods for solving block symmetric indefinite linear systems that arise from saddle point problems or, in particular, regularizations thereof. Such methods require preconditioners that preserve certain sub-blocks from the original systems but allow considerable flexibility for the remaining blocks.

Beyond Structural Interventions: The Human Architecture Shaping ESG Integration in Corporate Systems

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the promotion of ESG in corporate discourse, substantive integration of ESG principles into business practices remains challenging. This study applies and extends Meadows' leverage framework to examine ESG integration in UAE‐listed firms.

Implicit solvers for unstructured meshes [PDF]

open access: yes
Implicit methods were developed and tested for unstructured mesh computations. The approximate system which arises from the Newton linearization of the nonlinear evolution operator is solved by using the preconditioned GMRES (Generalized Minimum Residual)

Too Complex to Control? How Firms Navigate Scope 3 Governance Under Institutional Uncertainty

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As Scope 3 emissions make up the largest share of many firms' carbon footprints, firms face growing pressure to manage emissions beyond their direct control. Ongoing revisions of the CSRD, the GHG Protocol, and the SBTi Net‐Zero Standard further increase regulatory and methodological uncertainty.

Fast iterative solvers for convection-diffusion control problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this manuscript, we describe effective solvers for the optimal control of stabilized convection-diffusion problems. We employ the local projection stabilization, which we show to give the same matrix system whether the discretize-then-optimize or ...

Managing with CARE: Family‐Level Outcomes of Environmental, Social, and Governance Practices in Family Firms

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT ESG practices offer various benefits for family firms; however, there has been limited focus on how these practices can specifically advantage the owning family. To address this gap, we conduct a multiple‐case study of six Italian family firms.

The EU Cities Mission: A Governance Innovation for Stockholm?

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acknowledging that cities play a key role in climate change mitigation, the European Union (EU) launched the Cities Mission in 2021 to accelerate urban climate action. Intended as a governance innovation, it seeks to stimulate mission‐oriented governance in cities.

Orchestration of Climate Action in Municipalities: A Collective Capacity Approach

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Municipalities are increasingly positioned as key actors in enabling local climate action, yet their ability to mobilise societal actors remains insufficiently understood. This study examines how municipal officials in six Finnish municipalities from different local contexts understand and operationalise collective capacity for climate action,
