Statistics of precursors to fingering processes

open access: yes, 2006
We present an analysis of the statistical properties of hydrodynamic field fluctuations which reveal the existence of precursors to fingering processes.

Local and global spontaneous calcium events regulate neurite outgrowth and onset of GABAergic phenotype during neural precursor differentiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Neural stem cells can generate in vitro progenitors of the three main cell lineages found in the CNS. The signaling pathways underlying the acquisition of differentiated phenotypes in these cells are poorly understood.

Disorganized attachment in early childhood: Meta-analysis of precursors, concomitants, and sequelae

open access: yesDevelopment and Psychopathology, 1999
During the past 10 years nearly 80 studies on disorganized attachment involving more than 6,000 infant–parent dyads have been carried out. The current series of meta-analyses have established the reliability and discriminant validity of disorganized ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Identification of dividing, determined sensory neuron precursors in the mammalian neural crest [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Sensory and autonomic neurons of the vertebrate peripheral nervous system are derived from the neural crest. Here we use the expression of lineage-specific transcription factors as a means to identify neuronal subtypes that develop in rat neural crest ...

MicroRNA-like RNAs from the same miRNA precursors play a role in cassava chilling responses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are known to play important roles in various cellular processes and stress responses. MiRNAs can be identified by analyzing reads from high-throughput deep sequencing.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Tectonophysical model of the tectonic earthquake focus [PDF]

open access: yesГеосистемы переходных зон
Based on the results of physical modeling of the processes of fault zone formation, general regularities of their structural and dynamic development were revealed.

Interplay of Precursor and Plasma for The Deposition of HfO2 via PEALD: Film Growth and Dielectric Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, 2023
HfO2 thin films are appealing for microelectronic applications such as high‐κ dielectric layers, memristors, and ferroelectric memory devices. To fulfill the different requirements of each application, the properties of the deposited material need to be ...

Statistical study of spatio-temporal distribution of precursor solar flares associated with major flares [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The aim of the present investigation is to study the spatio-temporal distribution of precursor flares during the 24-hour interval preceding M- and X-class major flares and the evolution of follower flares.
