Predictability of Mandibular Autorotation After Maxillary Repositioning in Orthognathic Surgery: A Systematic Review with Exploratory Quantitative Synthesis

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This systematic review aimed to evaluate the available evidence on methods used to predict mandibular autorotation after maxillary repositioning in orthognathic surgery. A systematic search of PubMed/MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Google Scholar, and

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Comparative study of ANN and ANFIS prediction models for thermal error compensation on CNC machine tools

open access: yes, 2013
Thermal errors can have significant effects on CNC machine tool accuracy. The errors usually come from thermal deformations of the machine elements created by heat sources within the machine structure or from ambient change.

Accuracy of Intraocular Lens Power Estimation in Eyes Having Phacovitrectomy for Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment

open access: yes, 2014
Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of intraocular lens power estimation in eyes having phacovitrectomy for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Methods: Retrospective case review of 100 consecutive eyes that underwent phacovitrectomy for rhegmatogenous ...

Error in Enumerable Sequence Prediction

open access: yes, 2006
We outline a method for quantifying the error of a sequence prediction. With sequence predictions represented by semimeasures $ u(x)$ we define their error to be $-log_2 u(x)$. We note that enumerable semimeasures are those which model the sequence as the output of a computable system given unknown input.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Predicting Errors in Concurrent Systems

open access: yes, 2017

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Coupling a firefly algorithm with support vector regression to predict evaporation in northern Iran

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2018
Evaporation accounts for varying shares of water balance under different climatic conditions, and its correct prediction poses a significant challenge before water resources management in watersheds.
