Optimizing the Management of Reference Prediction Table for Prefetching and Prepromotion

open access: yesJournal of Computers, 2010
Prefetching and prepromotion are two important techniques for hiding the memory access latency. Reference prediction tables (RPT) plays a significant role in the process of prefetching or prepromoting data with linear memory access patterns. The traditional RPT management, LRU replacement algorithm, can not manage RPT efficiently.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Models for the estimation of thermodynamic properties of layered double hydroxides: application to the study of their anion exchange characteristics

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2004
Several models for the estimation of thermodynamic properties of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) are presented. The predicted thermodynamic quantities calculated by the proposed models agree with experimental thermodynamic data. A thermodynamic study of

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

A new model for determining risk of male infertility from serum hormone levels, without semen analysis

open access: yesScientific Reports
We investigated a screening method using only serum hormone levels and AI (artificial intelligence) predictive analysis. Among 3662 patients, numbers for NOA (non-obstructive azoospermia), OA (obstructive azoospermia), cryptozoospermia, oligozoospermia ...

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...
