Predictive Torque Control of Three Phase Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines

open access: yesMajlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering
This paper presents a predictive strategy to control torque and flux of an axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) machine. Unlike conventional direct torque control (DTC) for permanent magnet machines that only six actives voltage vectors of inverter are ...

An Analytical Cost Function Design and Implementation for Predictive Control of Induction Machine Drives

open access: yesIEEE Access
In finite control set-model predictive torque control (FCS-MPTC) of induction machine (IM), the optimal design of weighting factors for the cost function has always been a research difficulty in community of scholars.

Time-Optimal Path Tracking via Reachability Analysis

open access: yes, 2018
Given a geometric path, the Time-Optimal Path Tracking problem consists in finding the control strategy to traverse the path time-optimally while regulating tracking errors.

Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.

Transistor‐Level Activation Functions via Two‐Gate Designs: From Analog Sigmoid and Gaussian Control to Real‐Time Hardware Demonstrations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Screen gate‐based transistors are presented, enabling tunable analog sigmoid and Gaussian activations. The SA‐transistor improves MRI classification accuracy, while the GA‐transistor supports precise Gaussian kernel tuning for forecasting. Both functions are implemented in a single device, offering compact, energy‐efficient analog AI processing ...

Improved weighting factor selection method of predictive torque control for PMSM

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
In the traditional predictive torque control strategy, the cost function considers two different control objectives: stator flux and torque. Therefore, it is necessary to reasonably set the weighting factor to ensure that the optimal voltage vector is ...

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Model predictive control of a brushless cascadedoubly-fed induction generator with torque regulation for stand-alone applications

open access: yesHeliyon
In this paper, a novel control method for Brushless Cascade Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (BCDFIG) control is proposed by integrating the Model Predictive Control (MPC) and the Direct Torque Control (DTC) methods.

Extremum Seeking-based Iterative Learning Linear MPC

open access: yes, 2014
In this work we study the problem of adaptive MPC for linear time-invariant uncertain models. We assume linear models with parametric uncertainties, and propose an iterative multi-variable extremum seeking (MES)-based learning MPC algorithm to learn on ...
