New Iterative Scheme Involving Self-Adaptive Method for Solving Mixed Variational Inequalities

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
Variational inequalities (VI) problems have been generalized and expanded in various ways. The VI principle has become a remarkable study area combining pure and applied research.

Fifth Order Predictor-Corrector Method for Solving Quadratic Riccati Differential Equations

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, fifth order predictor-corrector method is presented for solving quadratic Riccati differential equations. First, the interval is discretized and then the method is formulated by using the Newton’s backward difference interpolation formula.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Equilibrium states for predictor-corrector methods

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 1998
Step control (SC) stability is a theory that explains the stepsize patterns of numerical methods with bounded stability regions when they are applied with variable stepsizes to stiff or mildly stiff problems. In the present article, SC-stability is studied for the Adams multistep methods of orders 1 to 4 (in predictor corrector mode).

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

New predictor-corrector method used as a solver for decohesion problem

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
In certain problems of loading of elastic-perfectly plastic thin sheets a continuous displacement solution may not exist. The evolution of plastic zone is then connected with the evolution of discontinuity lines in both velocity and displacement fields.
