A Numerical Solution and Comparative Study of the Symmetric Rossler Attractor with the Generalized Caputo Fractional Derivative via Two Different Methods

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
This study focuses on the solution of the rotationally symmetric Rossler attractor by using the adaptive predictor–corrector algorithm (Apc-ABM-method) and the fractional Laplace decomposition method (ρ-Laplace DM).

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

A Dufort-Frankel Difference Scheme for Two-Dimensional Sine-Gordon Equation

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2014
A standard Crank-Nicolson finite-difference scheme and a Dufort-Frankel finite-difference scheme are introduced to solve two-dimensional damped and undamped sine-Gordon equations. The stability and convergence of the numerical methods are considered.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Error Correction Methods for Accurate Analysis of Milling Stability Based on Predictor–Corrector Scheme

open access: yesMachines
Chatter vibration in machining operations has been identified as one of the major obstacles to improving surface quality and productivity. Therefore, efficiently and accurately predicting stable cutting regions is becoming increasingly important ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

A Family of Trigonometrically Fitted Enright Second Derivative Methods for Stiff and Oscillatory Initial Value Problems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2015
A family of Enright’s second derivative formulas with trigonometric basis functions is derived using multistep collocation method. The continuous schemes obtained are used to generate complementary methods.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Three-step iterations for mixed quasi variational-like inequalities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005
In this paper, we use the auxiliary principle technique in conjunction with the Bregman function to suggest and analyze a three-step predictor-corrector method for solving mixed quasi variational-like inequalities. We also study the convergence criteria
