Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Novel Optimal Class of Eighth-Order Methods for Solving Nonlinear Equations and Their Dynamical Aspects [PDF]

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis
In this paper, a novel optimal class of eighth-order convergence methods for finding simple roots of nonlinear equations is derived based on the Predictor-Corrector of Halley method.

PREDICTOR–CORRECTOR SMOOTHING NEWTON METHOD FOR SOLVING SEMIDEFINITE PROGRAMMING [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2009
AbstractThere has been much interest recently in smoothing methods for solving semidefinite programming (SDP). In this paper, based on the equivalent transformation for the optimality conditions of SDP, we present a predictor–corrector smoothing Newton algorithm for SDP. Issues such as the existence of Newton directions, boundedness of iterates, global

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Insight into thermal dynamic of stagnated flow of MHD Jeffery fluid when the joule heating, viscous dissipation and Soret effect are present: A multistep Milne's approach

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
The purpose of this work is to use the RK approach in conjunction with Milne's Predictor Corrector method to investigate the numerical solution of the magnetohydrodynamic Jeffery fluid passing over the upper horizontal parabolic surface.

Milne’s Implementation on Block Predictor-corrector Methods

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences, 2016
Milne’s implementation on block predictor-corrector methods for integration nonstiff ordinary differential equations is been considered. The introduction of Milne’s implementation attracts a lot of computational benefits, which guarantees step size variation, convergence criteria and error control.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
