Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Self-Employment and Risk Preference [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We explore the relationship between self-employment and attitudes towards financial risk using individual level data drawn from the U.S. Survey of Consumer Finances (SCF) and the U.S. Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID). Both surveys include questions,

Adaptive Preferences, Adapted Preferences [PDF]

open access: yesMind, 2018
People who have not experienced diseases and health conditions tend to judge them to be worse than they are reported to be by people who have experienced them. This phenomenon, known as the disability paradox, presents a challenge for health policy, and in particular, healthcare resource distribution.

Consistency in Positive Reciprocal Matrices: An Improvement in Measurement Methods

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Consistency estimation of decision-makers' judgments in decision-making processes is fundamental to generating agreements and making decisions. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is a widely used method to solve this type of problem, enabling evaluation of

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Intake pattern and feed sorting of beef cattle fed different sources of corn in a feedlot

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Ciencia Animal Recia
The objective of this experiment was to determine the feed intake pattern and feed sorting of 30 Nelore males finished in a feedlot fed diets based on three different sources of corn: whole crop silage (WCS), high moisture corn (HMC) or corn grain (CG).

Preferensi Masyarakat terhadap Ruang Kota sebagai Tempat Relaksasi

open access: yesRUAS, 2020
People who live in urban areas tend to have a higher stress level than those who live in rural areas. Level of stress can be prevented and diminished through the establishment of urban relaxation spaces within the city.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...
