Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Maximally Supersymmetric Yang-Mills in five dimensions in light-cone superspace

open access: yes, 2010
We formulate maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in five dimensions in light-cone superspace. The light-cone Hamiltonian is of the quadratic form and the theory can be understood as an oxidation of the N=4 Super Yang-Mills Theory in four ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

External field influence on semiflexible macromolecules: geometric coupling

open access: yes, 2011
We suggested a geometric approach to address the external field influence on the DNA molecules, described by the WLC model via geometric coupling. It consists in the introduction of the effective metrics depending on the potential of the external field ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

PLM Reference Model: A Preliminary Proposal for Reference Model Evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The adoption of product lifecycle management (PLM) business approach requires the implementation of PLM systems. Currently there is a wide variety of PLM systems in the market, but the scope differences between existing systems hamper the selection process for manufacturing companies.

Highlights of Supersymmetric Hypercharge $\pm1$ Triplets

open access: yes, 2013
The discovery of a standard model (SM)-like Higgs boson with a relatively heavy mass $m_h$ and hints of di-photon excess has deep implication to supersymmetric standard models (SSMs).
