Calculating $B_K$ using a mixed action

open access: yes, 2005
We present preliminary results of $B_K$ calculated using improved staggered fermions with the mixed action (valence quarks = HYP staggered fermions and sea quarks = AsqTad staggered fermions). We analyze the data based upon the prediction by Van de Water

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

The Minnesota Union List of Serials

open access: yesInformation Technology and Libraries, 1973
This paper describes development of a MARC serials format union catalog of serials called the Minnesota Union List of Serials (MULS). The Preliminary Edition, published August 1972, contains over 37,000 main entries in 1,566 text pages produced through ...

PLM Reference Model: A Preliminary Proposal for Reference Model Evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The adoption of product lifecycle management (PLM) business approach requires the implementation of PLM systems. Currently there is a wide variety of PLM systems in the market, but the scope differences between existing systems hamper the selection process for manufacturing companies.

Preliminary Reference and the Hungarian Constitutional Court: A Context of Non-Reference [PDF]

open access: yesGerman Law Journal, 2015
Jiri Zemanek, Professor at Charles University, Prague, asks what conclusions may be drawn from the current state of acceptance of the European Union (EU) law doctrine by the constitutional courts of the new Member States for their performance in the agenda of preliminary rulings. What can they learn from the experience of the old Member States?

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Risk of Population Extinction from Periodic and Abrupt Changes of Environment

open access: yes, 2008
A simulation model of a population having internal (genetic) structure is presented. The population is subject to selection pressure coming from the environment which is the same in the whole system but changes in time.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
