Expanding the Phenotypic Spectrum Associated With Loss‐of‐Function SMARCA4 Variants to Eye Developmental Anomalies

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 109, Issue 6, Page 1064-1069, June 2026.
This study expands the clinical spectrum of SMARCA4 by describing a novel phenotype in three unrelated individuals with truncating variants. Distinct from Coffin–Siris syndrome and rhabdoid tumor predisposition, this new association is characterized by ocular malformations, specifically microphthalmia and coloboma.

Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) Induced by Administration of Cilostazol after Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesRussian Open Medical Journal, 2013
Cilostazol is a phosphodiesterase III inhibitor, which was approved by FDA (food and drug administration) for intermittent claudication in 1999. What made it known to cardiologists is the Cilostazol for Restenosis Trial (CREST), in which cilostazol was ...

Clonal hematopoiesis in patients with cancer and cancer survivors: From clonal burden to cardiovascular diseases

open access: yesCancer, Volume 132, Issue 10, 15 May 2026.
ABSTRACT Over the past decade, clonal hematopoiesis (CH) has gained substantial attention as a prevalent, age‐associated phenomenon with major implications for hematologic malignancy, cardiovascular disease, and mortality. CH arises from the clonal expansion of hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells harboring somatic mutations, most commonly in ...

Cardiac‐Derived ECM Microspheres for Enhanced hiPSC‐CMs Maturation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 39, 14 May 2026.
Cardiac extracellular matrix microspheres derived from decellularized porcine heart provide a biomimetic 3D microenvironment for human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs). This platform supports short‐ and long‐term culture, enhances structural organization, and promotes electrophysiological and functional maturation of ...
