Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

Advances in the Application of Plant Chromosome Rearrangement in Crop Genetic Improvement

open access: yesGuangdong nongye kexue
Chromosome rearrangement is a mechanism that can lead to the loss, duplication, translocation and inversion of DNA segments, thereby altering the genomic structure and providing possibilities for creating new variable traits.

Analysis of the Interaction Network of Hub miRNAs-Hub Genes, Being Involved in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibers and Its Emerging Role in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a fibrotic interstitial lung disease with lesions confined to the lungs. To identify meaningful microRNA (miRNA) and gene modules related to the IPF progression, GSE32537 (RNA-sequencing data) and GSE32538 (miRNA ...

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Research Progress on the Regulation of Important Agronomic Traits in Crops by Non-coding Genetic Resources

open access: yesGuangdong nongye kexue
In traditional crop genetics research, protein-coding genes have always been the primary focus. However, recent scientific advances have revealed the critical role of non-coding genetic resources in regulating key agronomic traits such as crop yield ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Intervertebral disc transplantation: a biological approach to motion preservation [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Spine Journal, 2008
Intervertebral disc transplantation was developed in a bipedal animal model through the stages of autograft, fresh allograft and fresh frozen allograft. Results showed that the allografts were able to survive through a deep freezing protocol and maintain cell viability after transplantation without significant immunoreaction.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
