Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Effect of constraint-induced movement therapy on lower extremity motor dysfunction in post-stroke patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2022
ObjectiveConstraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) is a common treatment for upper extremity motor dysfunction after a stroke. However, whether it can effectively improve lower extremity motor function in stroke patients remains controversial.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The influence of storage conditions on the dynamics of physicochemical markers of champignon (Agaricus bisporus) quality

open access: yesПищевые системы
Agaricus bisporus are the most common cultivated mushrooms. Champignons are a source of chitin, glycogen and minerals, and also have attractive organoleptic properties.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Differentiating the aromatic positional isomers of methylbuphedrones and methoxybuphedrones via chemical ionization‐mass spectrometry

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances
Discrimination of aromatic positional isomers of methylbuphedrones and methoxybuphedrones was successfully achieved. Meta isomers were discriminated by chemical ionization‐tandem mass spectrometry (CI‐MS/MS) using acetonitrile as a reagent gas ...

Analysis of the half-life ‘ageing-constant’ theory for galvanic anodes: Analysing the model’s predictive power for CPT anodes [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
Over the last 4 years, an empirical model describing the current from galvanic anodes has been released based on limited data from some galvanic anodes. The model describes how the current from these anodes appears to halve over set time intervals. This ‘

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
