Other Food Preservation Methods

2000
The methods presented in the previous six chapters are well established and in wide use throughout the world. Presented in this chapter are four methods that are less widely used but which show promise of being of greater importance in the future.

Transformer oil preservation methods

Electrical Engineering, 1958
IN ALL COMMONLY USED SYSTEMS of oil preservation for power transformers, the oil surface is exposed to a gas, either air as with a conservator system or nitrogen if the automatic-gas-seal system is used. Where a gas and a liquid are in such contact, some of the gas dissolves into the liquid, the quantity depending upon the kind of gas and liquid and ...

[Methods for fertility preservation].

Lakartidningen, 2023
Methods for cryopreservation of sperms, eggs, embryos and gonadal tissue have been developed and are available at many centers that have programs for fertility preservation. In Sweden, such programs are established at university hospitals and fertility preservation is offered within the publicly financed healthcare to patients when medically indicated.

Structure-preserving Exponential Runge--Kutta Methods

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2017
Summary: Exponential Runge-Kutta (ERK) and partitioned exponential Runge-Kutta (PERK) methods are developed for solving initial value problems with vector fields that can be split into conservative and linear nonconservative parts. The focus is on linearly damped ordinary differential equations that possess certain invariants when the damping ...

Energy-Preserving ERKN Methods

2013
Chapter 7 is concerned with the energy-preserving numerical integration for the system of oscillatory second-order differential equations \(\ddot{q}+Mq=f(q)\), where M is a symmetric positive semi-definite matrix and f(q)=−∇U(q). Based on the traditional average-vector-field (AVF) methods, adapted average-vector-field (AAVF) methods are developed.

Method to preserve cells [PDF]

open access: possible, 2016
Methods are disclosed that provide for the preservation of living human and other cells at room temperature or higher temperatures which can be applied to research, medical and defense applications. These methods represent a significant improvement relative to currently used methods that employ preservation at cryogenic temperatures.
