Seat pressure distribution.

open access: yesCollegium antropologicum, 1998
The field of seat pressure distribution has grown more and more important in the last five decades. Compared to the early phases of development, when only a description in principle was the goal, the quantitative differentiation of force induction and furthermore the evaluation of different supporting systems by these methods have gained importance ...

Effect of Soccer Foot Pressure on Pressure Distributions

open access: yesJournal of Education and Training Studies, 2018
The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of playing soccer for a long time in for professional soccer players regarding sole pressure. Despite the increasing prevalence of new methods developed in the footpad pressure measurement in recent years, our knowledge about pressure distribution of the footplate is still insufficient, especially ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Custom orthotic insoles with gradual variable stiffness using 3D printed spacer technique

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping
3D-printing enables fabricating insoles with locally variable mechanical properties that can better redistribute plantar pressure by altering the mechanical structure.

Pressure distribution on a hydrofoil running near the water surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 1955
The effect of the free surface on the pressure distribution on the upper side of a shallow-running hydrofoil is considered from a general point of view.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Warming rays in cluster cool cores

open access: yes, 2007
We present a model of cosmic ray heating of clusters' cores that reproduces the observed temperature distribution in clusters by using an energy balance condition in which the emitted X-ray energy is supplied by the hadronic cosmic rays, which act as ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Influence of Bernoulli′s Speed-reduced Oil Cavities on the Friction Characteristics of Hydrostatic Bearings

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology
In order to solve the problem of insufficient bearing capacity of hydrostatic thrust bearings at high speed, a pendulum shaped oil lifting structure is added in the double rectangular oil cavity and this paper takes the slope-shaped and the ordinary ...
