Technical Characteristics and Biomedical Applications of Flexible Pressure Sensor Matrices: A Scoping Review

open access: yesSensors
Flexible pressure sensors have been increasingly proposed for clinical monitoring applications. However, the available evidence on the technical characteristics and the biomedical applications of these technologies remains fragmented.

Experimental Study of Railway Trackbed Pressure Distribution Under Dynamic Loading

open access: yesThe Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering, 2019
Reliable and durable operation of the railway track under the dynamic load of the rolling stock depends considerably on the ability of the ballast layer to get the load from the sleepers and distribute it to the subgrade.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Air Knives: Going Beyond the Classical Midspan Pressure Distributions

open access: yesFluids
Air knives are extensively employed in many cold rolling or tin plate production lines for drying purposes. Generally, these systems are oversized, resulting in excessive energy consumption, a consequence of insufficient understanding of their ...

Experimental Investigation of Pressure Distribution Along Makhool Dam Spillway

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2013
This research is an experimental investigation on the pressure distribution  along the surface of Makhool Dam spillway. The work is carried out as series of tests; these series are on the model as it is designed.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Experimental Study on Distributed Measurement of Internal Pressure in Lithium-Ion Batteries Using Thin-Film Sensors

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
With the rapid development of electric vehicles, the safety and reliability of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), as their core energy storage units, have become increasingly prominent. The variation in internal battery pressure is closely related to critical

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Investigating on effect of fan blades angle of a water-cooled air conditioner on its performance through CFD analysis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering
Most studies conducted in the indoor unit of water-cooled air conditioners focus on increasing its efficiency and reducing its temperature. The purpose of this study is to conduct a numerical simulation of a centrifugal fan with forward blades using the ...
