A wellbore fluid performance parameters–temperature–pressure coupling prediction model during the managed pressure cementing injection stage

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
Managed pressure cementing (MPC) is a new technology based on managed pressure drilling, which has a greater advantage in facing narrow density window formations.

Geosynchronous magnetic field responses to fast solar wind dynamic pressure enhancements: MHD field model [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2012
We performed global MHD simulations of the geosynchronous magnetic field in response to fast solar wind dynamic pressure (Pd) enhancements. Taking three Pd enhancement events in 2000 as examples, we found that the main features of the total field B ...

Measurement of Radio-Frequency Radiation Pressure

open access: yes, 2018
We perform measurements of the radiation pressure of a radio-frequency (RF) electromagnetic field which may lead to a new SI-traceable power calibration.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Importance of In-Plane Anisotropy in the Quasi Two-Dimensional Antiferromagnet BaNi$_{2}$V$_{2}$O$_{8}$

open access: yes, 2007
The phase diagram of the quasi two-dimensional antiferromagnet BaNi$_{2}$V$_{2}$O$_{8}$ is studied by specific heat, thermal expansion, magnetostriction, and magnetization for magnetic fields applied perpendicular to $\mathbf{c}$. At $\mu_0H^{*}\simeq1.5$

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Magnetic-Field-Induced Mott Transition in a Quasi-Two-Dimensional Organic Conductor

open access: yes, 2004
We investigated the effect of magnetic field on the highly correlated metal near the Mott transition in the quasi-two-dimensional layered organic conductor, $\kappa$-(BEDT-TTF)$_{2}$Cu[N(CN)$_{2}$]Cl, by the resistance measurements under control of ...

Velocity and Pressure Field of Spilling Breakers

open access: yesCoastal Engineering 1980, 1980
The internal velocity and pressure fields of quasi-steady spilling breaking waves have been investigated experimentally. The internal flow fields are shown to be in qualitative agreement with a model proposed by Peregrine and Svendsen (1978). Furthermore a quantitative comparison is made with nonbreaking wave theories.

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.
