Proportional Ventilatory Support: A Comparison of Proportional Assist Ventilation, Proportional Pressure Support and Proportional Pressure Ventilation [PDF]
Background: Proportional ventilatory support (PVS) refers to modes of ventilation that provide support that is proportional to the patient\u27s inspiratory effort. Research has shown that PVS improves patient ventilator synchrony. Several ventilators are

Glucose deprivation in the primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL) tumor microenvironment drives SLC2A5 (encoding GLUT5)‐dependent fructose metabolism in tumor cells, while hypoxia induces HIF‐mediated SLC2A5 expression in tumor‐supportive macrophages, revealing SLC2A5‐driven fructose utilization as a shared and targetable metabolic vulnerability across malignant

Tumor‐derived lactate establishes a metabolic lock that drives chemo‐immunotherapy resistance by suppressing PANoptosis. Mechanistically, KAT8 lactylates the mitochondrial translocator ANT2, which recruits PGAM5 to dephosphorylate CypD. This cascade restricts mitochondrial permeability transition pore opening, preventing pro‐inflammatory mtDNA leakage.

Bioinspired passive flow routing mitigates thrombosis in cardiovascular devices by redirecting a small fraction of forward flow into stagnation‐prone regions. Inspired by avian alula and aircraft slat mechanisms, strategically placed routing channels restore washout around mechanical heart valves, reducing low‐shear exposure by four orders of magnitude

Adaptive Support Ventilation (ASV) [PDF]
Adaptive Support Ventilation is a novel ventilation mode, a closed-loop control mode that may switch automatically from a PCV-like behaviour to an SIMV-like or PSV-like behaviour, according to the patient status.
