Obtaining phytotherapeutic chlorophyll extracts using pressurized liquid technology
The Journal of Supercritical Fluids, 2022Abstract The use of natural extracts in medical treatments has grown in recent years. However, conventional extraction methodologies generate large amounts of toxic residues, which cause severe problems for human health and the environment. For this reason, in this study, the pressurized liquid extraction method was used to obtain chlorophyll-rich ...

Pressurized liquid extraction of isoflavones from soybeans
Analytica Chimica Acta, 2004Abstract Isoflavone derivatives from freeze-dried soybeans were extracted by pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) and determined by reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with both photo diode array and mass spectrometry (MS) detection. Both real and spiked samples were used in the development of the method.

Pressurized liquid extraction of macauba pulp oil
The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2017AbstractThe aim of this study was to investigate the extraction of oil from macauba pulp using ethanol and isopropanol as pressurized solvents. Experiments were carried out in a semi‐continuous extractor system at various temperatures (40, 60, and 80 °C) maintaining the pressure fixed at 10 000 kPa and the solvent flow at 3 mL/min and also using ...

Pressurized liquid extraction of six tetracyclines from agricultural soils
Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 2018Veterinary antibiotics used in agriculture can be introduced into the environment through land application of animal manure, accumulating in soils and groundwaters and posing a significant risk to human health and animal well-being. As the analysis of tetracyclines in soil is challenging due to their strong interaction with soil minerals and organic ...

Simultaneous roasting and extraction of green coffee beans by pressurized liquid extraction
Food Chemistry, 2019Green coffee extracted by pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) was found to undergo a roasting process similar to traditional roasting. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was used to investigate the chlorogenic acid (CGA) composition and profiling changes by PLE under different extraction conditions and showed almost identical generation and

Pressurized Liquid Extraction of Contaminants from Environmental Samples
Current Analytical Chemistry, 2008This review updates knowledge on pressurized liquid extraction (PLE), a sample preparation technique that is increasingly used to extract moderately volatile and non-volatile organic pollutants from solid and semi-solid environmental matrices. In environmental analyses, therefore, it is mainly been used to analyse soils and sewage sludge, though it

Pressurized liquid extraction of oil from soybean seeds
The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2017The aim of this study was to investigate the extraction of soybean oil using ethanol under pressurized conditions. The effects of pressure (10 and 20 MPa), temperature (30 to 90 °C), and solvent flow (1 and 3 mL/min) were evaluated applying different extraction times. In addition, the thermodynamics parameters of the process were determined.
