The fundamental theorems of prevision and asset pricing
International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 2008 We explore two connections between the concepts of coherence, as defined by de Finetti, and arbitrage-free asset pricing in financial markets. We contrast these concepts when random quantities may be unbounded. And we discuss some of the consequences for arbitrage theory when coherent previsions are merely finitely (but not countably) additive.

Geophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.Abstract The underrepresentation of tropical cyclones (TCs) in state‐of‐the‐art atmospheric reanalyses such as ERA5 is well known, yet their impact on global hindcasts of extreme sea levels remains largely unaddressed. We show that weak TC signals in ERA5 cause severe underestimation, and in some cases near omission, of TC‐induced storm surges.
