Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Prim-SNPing: a primer designer for cost-effective SNP genotyping

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2009
Many kinds of primer design (PD) software tools have been developed, but most of them lack a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping service.

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

Assessment of depression in veterans across missions: a validity study using Rasch measurement models

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Psychotraumatology, 2017
Background: Depression is a common psychopathological outcome following military deployment. Previous studies have reported differing rates of post-deployment depression, indicating that the toll of war differs across missions.

Application of PRIM for understanding patterns in carbon dioxide model-observation differences [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics
Reducing uncertainties in regional carbon balances requires a better understanding of CO2 transport in synoptic weather systems. Here, we apply the Patient Rule Induction Method (PRIM), a data-mining method to identify high-density regions for a target ...

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

A Random PRIM Based Algorithm for Interpretable Classification and Advanced Subgroup Discovery

open access: yesAlgorithms
Machine-learning algorithms have made significant strides, achieving high accuracy in many applications. However, traditional models often need large datasets, as they typically peel substantial portions of the data in each iteration, complicating the ...

In‐Depth Profiling Highlights the Effect of Efgartigimod on Peripheral Innate and Adaptive Immune Cells in Myasthenia Gravis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by antibody‐mediated complement activation. Efgartigimod, a neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) antagonist, is approved for treating generalized MG (gMG). However, its modulatory effects on upstream innate and adaptive immune cells remain largely unexplored.

SV40 T antigen helicase domain regions responsible for oligomerisation regulate Okazaki fragment synthesis initiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2022
The initiation of Okazaki fragment synthesis during cellular DNA replication is a crucial step for lagging strand synthesis, which is carried out by the primase function of DNA polymerase α‐primase (Pol‐prim).
