Broad Observational Perspectives Achieved by the Accreting White Dwarf Sciences in the XMM-Newton and Chandra Eras

open access: yesUniverse
Accreting white dwarf binaries (AWDs) comprise cataclysmic variables (CVs), symbiotics, AM CVns, and other related systems that host a primary white dwarf (WD) accreting from a main sequence or evolved companion star.

Students’ Experiences of Teachers’ Ways of Unpacking Visual Representations in the Context of Intermolecular Forces

open access: yesScience Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This is the third article in a series, emanating from a project that used social semiotics and phenomenography to explore the role visual representations play in the teaching and learning of chemistry. Building on our earlier work that identified five qualitatively different ways that teachers may use to unpack visual representations in their ...

L’astronomie dans la formation des enseignants du premier degré : un contexte interdisciplinaire pour favoriser les enseignements en mathématiques et en sciences

open access: yesAnnales de Didactique et de Sciences Cognitives
We examine how to foster a better appreciation of mathematics and science among trainee school teachers in order to improve their engagement in the teaching of scientific disciplines. To this effect, we adopt an approach based on the “polyvalence” of the

High‐Resolution Microlens‐Assisted Tunable n‐Type Optical Doping in Monolayer MoS2

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The laser‐assisted microlens array processing (LAMP) technique enables sub‐diffraction, localized n‐type optical doping of monolayer MoS2 by utilizing self‐assembled microspheres as microlenses. Controlled sulfur vacancy formation under low‐power laser irradiation allows precise tuning of the carrier concentration.

Single‐Particle Insights Into the Electronic Structure and Enhanced Stability of CsPbBr3/FAPbBr3 Core/Crown Nanoplatelets at the Nanometer Scale

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Single‐particle‐level investigation using scanning tunneling spectroscopy reveals electronic structure and type‐I band alignment of individual CsPbBr3@FAPbBr3 core‐crown nanoplatelet. Crown passivation suppresses deep trap states by 47% and markedly improves electrical stability under repeated bias sweeps.
