The Orbit and Mass of the Cepheid AW Per

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The Cepheid AW Per is a component in a multiple system with a long-period orbit. The radial velocities of Griffin cover the 38 yr orbit well. An extensive program of interferometry with the Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy array is reported ...

Utilization of Pulsed Current‐Electro Fenton Technology for the Treatment of Wastewater from Industrial Processes

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
Pulsed‐Electro‐Fenton method: Experiments were conducted on the direct and pulsed current‐electro‐Fenton processes. EAOP methods were compared for elimination color and COD from industrial wastewater. EF technique effectively removes color and COD while consuming minimal electricity.

Effect of Nanoparticle Size on Cysteine‐Gold Surface Interactions

open access: yesParticle &Particle Systems Characterization, EarlyView.
Stronger and/or more frequent interactions for smaller (5 nm) than larger (20 nm) gold nanoparticles with L‐Cysteine. Surface gold interactions with functional groups: Thiol > amino >> carboxyl. Cysteine increased the agglomeration of the gold nanoparticles in solution but stabilized the nanospecific properties (hindered aggregation) of the smallest (5

Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy of Vacancy Type Defects in Electron Irradiated β‐Ga2O3

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), EarlyView.
For the conversion of positron annihilation Doppler data to absolute defect concentration measurements on defect‐free material and one with saturation levels of vacancies are required. This work provides these data for gallium vacancies in β‐Ga2O3 in the [010]. The −3 charge state is used. Positron annihilation spectroscopy is applied to high‐quality β‐

Optimizing Phononic Crystal Waveguides for Enhanced Surface Acoustic Wave Confinement

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), EarlyView.
A phononic crystal consisting of periodic arrays of nanofabricated holes on a surface can form a metamaterial‐like layer with properties different from the host material. Exploiting these surface properties, an optimized waveguide geometry is designed for surface acoustic waves using twofold elliptical cylinder inclusions to create a slow region that ...

Cuprate Twistronics for Quantum Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This review bridges decades of foundational research with emerging fabrication techniques such as molecular beam epitaxy and cryogenic stacking. By enabling control over electronic correlations and symmetry in twisted cuprate heterostructures, it highlights how cuprate twistronics could open new paths to overcome decoherence and scalability challenges ...

Formation of a β‐Endorphin Corona Mitigates Alzheimer's Amyloidogenesis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This study revealed the molecular mechanism of exercise‐induced β‐endorphin in suppressing the toxicity of Alzheimer's Aβ in vitro, in vivo and in silico. Abstract Senile plaques, comprised of nanosized aggregates of amyloid‐β (Aβ) peptides in the brain, are a pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's disease (AD).
