Evaluation of bioactive glass and hydroxyapatite crystals as pulpotomy agents in primary molars: A clinical study

open access: yesContemporary Pediatric Dentistry, 2020
Aim: To clinically and radiographically evaluate the potential of bioactive glass and hydroxyapatite crystals as pulpotomy agents in primary molars. Methods: A total of fifty teeth were selected from 25 children (14 boys and 11 girls) aged 4 to 9 years ...

Impact of MgO Additions on the Oxidation Resistance and Compression Behavior of Vanadium Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An increase in oxidation resistance at 600 °C is achieved for alloys containing more than 2.5 wt.% MgO. It has been established that, along with V2O5, MgO6V2, and Mg2O7V2 are formed, which are presumed to enhance oxidative stability. Furthermore, the possible transformation of Mg‐vanadates through reaction with CO2, which presumably occurs in this ...

On the Effect of Creep on Local Lattice Orientation in Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloy Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
During creep of a single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloy, the overall crystal orientation is observed to remain constant while the microstructure evolves. Despite the lack of macroscopic rotation, small (<1°) rotations are observed on the submicron size scale and are accommodated by counteracting rotations over the scale of several micrometers.

Molar-incisor hypomineralization and hypomineralized second primary molars

open access: yes, 2023
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the changes that occur in the morphology and crystalline structure of the superficial enamel of hypomineralized permanent and deciduous teeth. Materials and methods: 3 primary molars (1 healthy and 2 hypomineralized) and 4 permanent molars (1 healthy and 3 hypomineralized) went through a ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Ferroelectricity in Antiferromagnetic Wurtzite Nitrides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We establish MnSiN2${\rm MnSiN}_2$ and MnGeN2${\rm MnGeN}_2$ as aristotypes of a new multiferroic wurtzite family that simultaneously exhibits ferroelectricity and antiferromagnetism with altermagnetic spin splitting. By strategically substituting alkaline‐earth metals, we predict new materials with coexisting switchable polarization, spin texture, and

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

A scanning electron microscope study of prevalence of accessory canals on the pulpal floor of deciduous molars

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, 2009
The present in vitro study was carried out on 60 extracted human maxillary and mandibular, first and second primary molars, which were distributed equally into four groups to determine the prevalence, size, shape, location, and number of accessory canals
