Towers of Function Fields over Non-prime Finite Fields [PDF]
Over all non-prime finite fields, we construct some recursive towers of function fields with many rational places. Thus we obtain a substantial improvement on all known lower bounds for Ihara's quantity $A(\ell)$, for $\ell = p^n$ with $p$ prime and $n>3$ odd. We relate the explicit equations to Drinfeld modular varieties.

Liver‐specific knockout of N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 significantly accelerated hepatic tumor initiation under various oncogenic challenges, contrary to the previously reported oncogenic role of METTL3 in liver cancer cell lines or xenograft models. Mechanistically, METTL3 deficiency reduced m6A deposition on Manf transcripts and

Skyscraper: Fast Hashing on Big Primes
Arithmetic hash functions defined over prime fields have been actively developed and used in verifiable computation (VC) protocols. Among those, ellipticcurve- based SNARKs require large (256-bit and higher) primes. Such hash functions are notably slow,

Proper motions of young stellar outflows in the mid-infrared with Spitzer II HH 377/Cep E
We have used multiple mid-infrared observations at 4.5 μ m obtained with the infrared array camera, of the compact $(\sim 1.4^{\prime} )$ young stellar bipolar outflow Cep E to measure the proper motion of its brightest condensations.

Surprising symmetries in distribution of prime polynomials [PDF]
The primes or prime polynomials (over finite fields) are supposed to be distributed `irregularly' , despite nice asymptotic or average behavior. We provide some conjectures/guesses/hypotheses with `evidence' of surprising symmetries in prime distribution.

ICP34.5 is one of the most important antihost response proteins. The saRNA‐encoding HSV‐1 neurovirulence protein ICP34.5 clearly mediated the eukaryotic initiation factor 2 alpha subunit (eIF2α) dephosphorylation and significant suppression of innate immune responses in vitro, leading to enhanced expression of the saRNA‐encoded gene.

Stem cell‐based embryo models (SCBEMs) are valuable to study early developmental milestones. Matrigel, a basement membrane matrix, is a critical substrate used in various SCBEM protocols, but its role in driving stem cell lineage commitment is not clearly defined.
