Possible formation of ring galaxies by torus-shaped magnetic wormholes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We present the hypothesis that some of ring galaxies were formed by relic magnetic torus-shaped wormholes. In the primordial plasma before the recombination magnetic fields of wormholes trap baryons whose energy is smaller than a threshold energy.

Complex Organics in Space: A Changing View of the Cosmos

open access: yesGalaxies, 2023
Planetary explorations have revealed that complex organics are widely present in the solar system. Astronomical infrared spectroscopic observations have discovered that complex organics are synthesized in large quantities in planetary nebulae and ...

On the deuterium abundance and the importance of stellar mass loss in the interstellar and intergalactic medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We quantify the gas-phase abundance of deuterium and fractional contribution of stellar mass loss to the gas in cosmological zoom-in simulations from the Feedback In Realistic Environments project.

The Radiative Transport of Dust in Primordial Galaxies and Second-Generation Star Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate the radiative transport of dust in primordial galaxies in the presence of the UV radiation field from the first metal-free stars. We find that dust created in the first supernova (SN) explosions can be driven through the interior of the SN

The Stellar Initial Mass Function in Primordial Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In the context of star formation through fragmentation of an extremely metal deficient protogalactic cloud, the gravitational collapse of filamentary gas clouds is explored with one-dimensional numerical hydrodynamics coupled with nonequilibrium ...

Formation of Primordial Galaxies under Ultraviolet Background Radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The pancake collapse of pregalactic clouds under UV background radiation is explored with a one-dimensional sheet model. Here, attention is concentrated on elucidating the basic physics on the thermal evolution of pregalactic clouds exposed to diffuse UV

Cosmological Information in the Intrinsic Alignments of Luminous Red Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The intrinsic alignments of galaxies are usually regarded as a contaminant to weak gravitational lensing observables. The alignment of Luminous Red Galaxies, detected unambiguously in observations from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, can be reproduced by ...

Primordial Molecular Emission in Population III Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesPublications of the Astronomical Society of Japan, 2005
Abstract We consider the formation of molecules in primordial prestellar clumps and evaluate the line luminosities to assess detectability by next-generation observational facilities. If the initial $\mathrm{H}_2$ fraction is sufficiently high, HD becomes an important coolant in the clumps.
