Imaging Photonic Resonances within an All‐Dielectric Metasurface via Photoelectron Emission Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Photonic resonances within a dielectric metasurface are investigated using photoelectron emission microscopy (PEEM) and finite‐difference time‐domain simulations. An electron inelastic mean free path of 35 ± 10 nm is extracted from comparisons between microscopy and simulations.

Spherical and Aspherical Lenses for Boosting the Performance of Terahertz Imaging Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This study investigates the enhancement of terahertz (THz) detection through the terajet effect using mesoscale dielectric lenses of various geometries. Spherical, aspherical, and cubic polytetrafluoroethylene lenses are evaluated at 0.15 and 0.3 THz, demonstrating significant improvements in responsivity and noise reduction.

Computer‐Aided Design of Integrated Digital Strain Sensors for Hardware‐Based Recognition and Quantification of Human Movements

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
The digital capillaric strain sensors (DigSSs) that have a binary ON/OFF response to a tunable strain threshold enable tracking of human movements without complex signal processing algorithms for musculoskeletal health applications. The integrated DigSSs are designed by linear optimization‐based analysis of skin strain profiles and tested on human ...

A Force Myography (FMG) Armband Based on Micro‐Structured Textile‐Pressure Sensors for Human‐Machine Interface (HMI)

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This study introduces a textile‐based capacitive pressure sensor featuring a triangular prism microstructure, which significantly enhances sensitivity to 5.52% kPa−¹ and supports a wide sensing range up to 330 kPa. The sensor's performance is validated in a 4‐channel capacitive pressure‐based force myography (cFMG) armband for gesture recognition ...
