(Generalized) Maximum Cumulative Direct, Residual, and Paired Φ Entropy Approach
A distribution that maximizes an entropy can be found by applying two different principles. On the one hand, Jaynes (1957a,b) formulated the maximum entropy principle (MaxEnt) as the search for a distribution maximizing a given entropy under some given ...

Maximum Entropy in Drug Discovery
Drug discovery applies multidisciplinary approaches either experimentally, computationally or both ways to identify lead compounds to treat various diseases. While conventional approaches have yielded many US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved

ABSTRACT Background Embryonal tumors comprise the majority of malignant central nervous system (CNS) neoplasms diagnosed in children under 3 years of age. Compared with their counterparts in older children, these tumors exhibit distinct molecular biology and a more aggressive clinical phenotype, while their management is complicated by the heightened ...

Modelling and Simulation of Seasonal Rainfall Using the Principle of Maximum Entropy
We use the principle of maximum entropy to propose a parsimonious model for the generation of simulated rainfall during the wettest three-month season at a typical location on the east coast of Australia.

ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Principle of maximum entropy in the estimation of suspended sediment concentration
The concern with water quality has been promoting development of better monitoring and control techniques every day. As sediments transport most of water contaminants, their study is fundamental.

Is Turbulence a State of Maximum Energy Dissipation?
Turbulent flows are known to enhance turbulent transport. It has then even been suggested that turbulence is a state of maximum energy dissipation.

On an Objective Basis for the Maximum Entropy Principle [PDF]
In this letter, we elaborate on some of the issues raised by a recent paper by Neapolitan and Jiang concerning the maximum entropy (ME) principle and alternative principles for estimating probabilities consistent with known, measured constraint information.
