End-to-End Learning of Probabilistic Constellation Shaping Through Importance Sampling
Probabilistic constellation shaping enables easy rate adaption and has been proven to reduce the gap to Shannon capacity. Constellation point probabilities are optimized to maximize either the mutual information or the bit-wise mutual information. The optimization problem is however challenging even for simple channel models.

Supporting Probabilistic Constellation Shaping in 5G-NR Evolution
It is known that probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) can provide a shaping-gain of 1.53dB asymptotically as signal-to-noise (SNR) increases. This is however, under ideal assumptions that the system operates in optimal sense and can achieve the ...

Sensitivity Gains by Mismatched Probabilistic Shaping for Optical Communication Systems [PDF]
Probabilistic shaping of quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) is used to enhance the sensitivity of an optical communication system. Sensitivity gains of 0.43 dB and 0.8 dB are demonstrated in back-to-back experiments by shaping of 16QAM and 64QAM ...

Temporal Probabilistic Constellation Shaping for WDM Optical Communication Systems [PDF]
Finite state machine sources transmitting QPSK are studied as input to WDM optical fiber systems with ideal distributed Raman amplification. The probabilities of successive constellation symbols are shaped for nonlinear transmission and gains of around 500km (5-10%) are ...

Reshaping the ISAC Tradeoff Under OFDM Signaling: A Probabilistic Constellation Shaping Approach [PDF]
Integrated sensing and communications is regarded as a key enabling technology in the sixth generation networks, where a unified waveform, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal, is adopted to facilitate both sensing and ...

Joint Precoding and Probabilistic Constellation Shaping using Arithmetic Distribution Matching
The problem of joint shaping and precoding is studied in this paper. We introduce statistical dependencies among consecutive symbols to shape the constellation while minimizing the total transmit power when the signal goes through the precoding filter. We propose a stationary Markovian model for optimizing the transition probability of transmit symbols

Adaptive Turbo Equalization of Probabilistically Shaped Constellations
Fiber nonlinearity compensation of probabilistically shaped constellations with adaptive turbo equalization is investigated for the first time. Potential for more than 100% transmission reach extension is demonstrated by combining probabilistic shaping, single-channel digital backpropagation, and adaptive turbo equalization.
