Physics with exotic probability theory [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2001
Probability theory can be modified in essentially one way while maintaining consistency with the basic Bayesian framework. This modification results in copies of standard probability theory for real, complex or quaternion probabilities. These copies, in turn, allow one to derive quantum theory while restoring standard probability theory in the ...

Large deviations of regression parameter estimator in continuous-time models with sub-Gaussian noise

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2018
A continuous-time regression model with a jointly strictly sub-Gaussian random noise is considered in the paper. Upper exponential bounds for probabilities of large deviations of the least squares estimator for the regression parameter are obtained.

Quantum Theory of the Universe Based on Bayesian Probability [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We formulate a quantum theory of the Universe based on Bayesian probability. In this theory, the probability of the Universe is not a frequency probability, which can be obtained by observing experimental results several times, but is a Bayesian probability, which can define a probability of an event that occurs just once.

Extending and Automating Basic Probability Theory with Propositional Computability Logic [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Classical probability theory is formulated using sets. In this paper, we extend classical probability theory with propositional computability logic. Unlike other formalisms, computability logic is built on the notion of events/games, which is central to probability theory.

A limit theorem for singular stochastic differential equations

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2016
We study the weak limits of solutions to SDEs \[ dX_{n}(t)=a_{n}\big(X_{n}(t)\big)\hspace{0.1667em}dt+dW(t),\] where the sequence $\{a_{n}\}$ converges in some sense to $(c_{-}\mathbb{1}_{x0})/x+\gamma \delta _{0}$.

On Probability Leakage [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
The probability leakage of model M with respect to evidence E is defined. Probability leakage is a kind of model error. It occurs when M implies that events $y$, which are impossible given E, have positive probability. Leakage does not imply model falsification. Models with probability leakage cannot be calibrated empirically.

Integrated Use of Licensed- and Unlicensed-Band mmWave Radio Technology in 5G and Beyond

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The 3GPP standardization rapidly moves forward with studies of a wide-bandwidth waveform as well as an adaptation of the emerging 5G new radio (NR)-based access to the unlicensed spectrum (NR-U).

Improved Chebyshev inequality: new probability bounds with known supremum of PDF [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In this paper, we derive new probability bounds for Chebyshev's inequality if the supremum of the probability density function is known. This result holds for one-dimensional or multivariate continuous probability distributions with finite mean and variance (covariance matrix).
