A literature review of expert problem solving using analogy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We consider software project cost estimation from a problem solving perspective. Taking a cognitive psychological approach, we argue that the algorithmic basis for CBR tools is not representative of human problem solving and this mismatch could account ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Solving Robbin's problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
In this report the numerical integration of ellipticpartial differential equations under Robbin's boundaryconditions is attempted by means of the Extrapolatedform of the Alternating Direction Implicit methods.A set of varying extrapolation parameters is ...

LXCDM cosmologies: solving the cosmological coincidence problem? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We explore the possibility of having a composite (self-conserved) dark energy (DE) whose dynamics is controlled by the quantum running of the cosmological parameters.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Unlocking Undergraduate Problem Solving [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
It is difficult to find good problems for undergraduates. In this article, we explore an interesting problem that can be used in virtually any mathematics course. We then offer natural generalizations, state and prove some related results, and ultimately

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Efektivitas E-Modul Sistem Pencernaan Berbasis Problem Solving Terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah

open access: yesJIPI (Jurnal IPA dan Pembelajaran IPA), 2021
Learning during the Covid-19 pandemic has largely shifted to online learning. In response to this, it is necessary to prepare teaching materials that support online learning, one of which is the use of electronic models or e-modules.
