Subgroup Discovery in Process Mining
Process mining enables multiple types of process analysis based on event data. In many scenarios, there are interesting subsets of cases that have deviations or that are delayed. Identifying such subsets and comparing process mining results is a key step in any process mining project.

So far we have seen how workflow models can be defined in YAWL and how the YAWL workflow engine allows a model to drive business processes. Once such a model becomes operational, the Engine automatically logs activity, keeping track of task start and completion events, their time of occurrence, the resources involved, and so on (cf. Chap. 9, Sect. 9.7).

Mining Evolving Network Processes
2013 IEEE 13th International Conference on Data Mining, 2013Processes within real world networks evolve according to the underlying graph structure. A number of examples exists in diverse network genres: botnet communication growth, moving traffic jams [1], information foraging [2] in document networks (WWW and Wikipedia), and spread of viral memes or opinions in social networks.

Mining taxonomies of process models
Data & Knowledge Engineering, 2008Process mining techniques have been receiving great attention in the literature for their ability to automatically support process (re)design. Typically, these techniques discover a concrete workflow schema modelling all possible execution patterns registered in a given log, which can be exploited subsequently to support further-coming enactments.

Visual Analytics in Process Mining: Classification of Process Mining Techniques.
2016The increasing interest from industry and academia has driven the development of process mining techniques over the last years. Since the process mining entails a strong explorative perspective, the combination of process mining and visual analytics methods is a fruitful multidisciplinary solution to enable the exploration and the understanding of ...

Mining Constraints for Artful Processes
2012Artful processes are informal processes typically carried out by those people whose work is mental rather than physical (managers, professors, researchers, engineers, etc.), the so called “knowledge workers”. MailOfMine is a tool, the aim of which is to automatically build, on top of a collection of email messages, a set of workflow models that ...

Process mining offers a way to distill process models from event logs originating from transactional systems in logistics, banking, e-business, health-care, etc. The algorithms used for process mining are complex and in practise large logs are needed to derive a high-quality process model. To support these efforts, the process mining tool EMiT has been

Trace Clustering in Process Mining
2009Process mining has proven to be a valuable tool for analyzing operational process executions based on event logs. Existing techniques perform well on structured processes, but still have problems discovering and visualizing less structured ones. Unfortunately, process mining is most interesting in domains requiring flexibility.

What are the possibilities for process mining in hospitals? In this book the authors provide an answer to this question by presenting a healthcare reference model that outlines all the different classes of data that are potentially available for process mining in healthcare and the relationships between them. Subsequently, based on this reference model,

Efficiency of mining and processing waste utilization in mining processes
Mining Industry Journal (Gornay Promishlennost)The issues of human interaction with the nature and preservation of the environment as a reaction to man-made interference in its ecosystems have gained priority and relevance in comparison with the other areas of human activities in the coming post-industrial period.
