Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Enantioselective maternal transfer of chiral pesticide metabolite o,p’-DDD in zebrafish (Danio rerio): Implications for intergenerational thyroid disruption

open access: yesEnvironmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology
Recent studies show that pesticides can induce intergenerational toxicity, posing threats to wildlife populations. However, the intergenerational effects of chiral pesticide metabolites remain understudied despite their known enantioselective ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Effect of Bath ZrO2 Concentration on the Properties of Ni-Co/ZrO2 Coatings Obtained by Electrodeposition

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2018
Ni-Co/ZrO2 composite coatings with different ZrO2 contents have been prepared by electrodeposition. The ZrO2 content was controlled by deploying different ZrO2 particle concentrations in the bath. Micrographs, composition, microstructure, micro-hardness,

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Perinatal exposure to 4-hydroxy-4′-isopropoxydiphenylsulfone alters the adipogenesis in adult mice: A sex-specific study

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
4-hydroxy-4′-isopropoxydiphenylsulfone (BPSIP), a common alternative to bisphenol A (BPA), has been detected in breast milk and across placental barriers. However, the long-term impacts of perinatal exposure to BPSIP on adipogenesis and susceptibility to

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
