Thyroid disruption and the association with multi-toxicity endpoints in zebrafish embryos exposed to hymexazol

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Thyroid hormone (TH) disruption during the early development of organisms is a critical mechanism underlying pesticide-induced toxicity. Hymexazol (HM), a widely used new-generation fungicide, poses environmental risks to aquatic ecosystems; however, its

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Kolmogorov–Arnold and deep learning networks for industrial explainable product quality prediction

open access: yesDigital Chemical Engineering
In the chemical process industry, the frequent measurement of quality variables is not always a viable path to take. It can be due to the measurement being time- or cost-consuming, leading to a sampling time of hours or even a day.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Anthropogenic activities dominated the spatial and temporal changes of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) in the Hehuang valley in the northeastern Qinghai Province between 2000 and 2020

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
The Hehuang Valley (HV) is a key development area in the Qinghai Province; understanding changes in the vegetation within this area is of great significance if we are to maintain the ecological quality of this regional environment.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Functional Portability of a Hyperaccumulator-Derived Core Microbiome: Enhancing Cadmium Phytoextraction in Brassica juncea L. Through Molecular Reprogramming

open access: yesToxics
Soil cadmium (Cd) contamination is a persistent threat to global food security, requiring sustainable in situ remediation strategies. While hyperaccumulating plants possess specialized traits for metal extraction, their low biomass limits large-scale ...
