Anthropogenic activities dominated the spatial and temporal changes of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) in the Hehuang valley in the northeastern Qinghai Province between 2000 and 2020

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
The Hehuang Valley (HV) is a key development area in the Qinghai Province; understanding changes in the vegetation within this area is of great significance if we are to maintain the ecological quality of this regional environment.

Time-Specific Thresholds for Batch Process Monitoring: A Study Based on Two-Dimensional Conditional Variational Auto-Encoder

open access: yes
This paper studies the use of varying threshold in the statistical process control (SPC) of batch processes. The motivation is driven by how when multiple phases are implicated in each repetition, the distributions of the features behind vary with phases

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Monitoring and fault diagnosis for industrial process

open access: yes, 2015
Monitoring and fault diagnosis are crucial for industrial process. In this paper, a simple and efficient manifold learning method is used for process monitoring and fault diagnosis. Firstly, local neighbor relationship of process data is used for process

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
