Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Modelling of rotational moulding process: analysis of process parameters and warpage on cycle times [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The analysis of heat transfer in the rotational moulding process is a non-linear multi-dimensional matter, which involves a number of process conditions and thermal parameters.

On the parameter estimation for an explosive process

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Statistical Society, Japanese Issue, 1986
The author shows the strong consistency of the canonical parameters of a vector ARMA process, or a state space representation, even when the system is unstable. The paper is clear and well written.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Optimization of process parameters for high efficiency laser forming of advanced high strength steels within metallurgical constraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Laser forming (LF) has been shown to be a viable alternative to form automotive grade advanced high strength steels (AHSS). Due to their high strength, heat sensitivity and low conventional formability show early fractures, larger spring-back, batch-to ...

Residual Stresses in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing Products and Their Measurement Techniques: A Systematic Review

open access: yesApplied Mechanics
This literature review provides an in-depth exploration of the research conducted on residual stresses (RS) in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) products, particularly focusing on how process parameters influence the phenomenon.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A correlational study of areal surface texture parameters on some typical machined surfaces

open access: yes, 2015
A number of areal surface texture parameters have been adopted by standards bodies, namely ISO 25178-2, in which forty-one parameters within six groups are defined. The selection of the suitable areal parameters becomes an issue for a designer. The study
