Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Gaze as a Window to the Process of Novel Adjective Mapping

open access: yesLanguages, 2019
This study evaluated two explanations for how learning of novel adjectives is facilitated when all the objects are from the same category (e.g., exemplar and testing objects are all CUPS) and the object category is a known to the children.

Low Energy Compton Scattering and Nucleon Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The low energy virtual Compton scattering process $eN\to e'N\gamma$ offers a new and potentially high resolution window on nucleon sturcture via measurement of so-called generalized polarizabilities (GPs).

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Stochastic finite-fault method controlled by the fault rupture process

open access: yesMethodsX, 2020
We present an improved stochastic finite-fault method controlled by the fault rupture process (NNSIM) which can make the simulated strong ground motion at a broad frequency band similar to real ground motion of the Ms 7.0 Lushan earthquake by introducing

Epitaxial stabilization of Sr3Ir2O7 thin films

open access: yes, 2019
Ruddlesden-popper type Srn+1IrnO3n+1 compound is a major focus of condensed matter physics where the subtle balance between electron-electron correlation, spin-orbit interaction and crystal field effect brings a host of emergent phenomena.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Measurement of Mobile Switching Centres Throughput in GSM Network Integrating Sliding Window Algorithm with a Single Server Finite Queuing Model

open access: yesJournal of Computer Networks and Communications, 2016
The sliding window algorithm proposed for determining an optimal sliding window does not consider the waiting times of call setup requests of a mobile station in queue at a Mobile Switching Centre (MSC) in the Global System for Mobile (GSM) Communication

Reserve requirements and the discount window in recent decades [PDF]

open access: yes
Reserve requirements and the discount window have long supported open market operations in the monetary policy process. Focusing on the last four decades, the author first examines the effects of required reserves on policy implementation, bank behavior,

The new p-process database of KADoNiS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The KADoNiS (Karlsruhe Astrophysical Database of Nucleosynthesis in Stars) project is an online database (www.kadonis.org) for cross sections relevant to the s-process and the p-process. The first version was an updated sequel to the previous Bao et al.
