Removal of procion orange from wastewater by adsorption on waste red mud

Separation Science and Technology, 2002
The ability of waste red mud, an industrial by-product produced during the processing of bauxite ore, to remove procion orange was investigated at different initial dye concentrations, agitation time, adsorbent dosage, and pH. Adsorption followed the Freundlich isotherm model. A maximum removal of 82% of the dye was observed at pH 2.0.

Biochar Derived from Rice Husk as Effective Adsorbent for the Removal Congo Red and Procion Red MX-5B Dyes

Indonesian Journal of Material Research, 2023
Biochar derived from rice husk was successfully prepared with the pyrolysis method. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Thermogravimetry analysis (TGA), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis confirmed biochar. The results indicate that biochar is amorphous carbon.

Adsorption of Procion Red MX 8B using spent tea leaves as adsorbent

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016
The adsorption of Procion Red MX 8B using spent tea leaves (STL) as adsorbent, has been studied by batch adsorption technique. The adsorbent was activated by NaOH 4% for 24 hours for delignification process. The adsorbent was characterized using FTIR to indetify the functional groups of cellulose was shown by uptake -OH, C-H and C-O.

Changes observed in bone during hibernation using procion red dye as a matrical marker

Journal of Experimental Zoology, 1979
AbstractVisual examination of the intensity of Procion dye in hamster femurs revealed that dye incorporation decreased during hibernation. Little or no dye was observed after hibernation lasting longer than 50 days. It seems that hibernation may be associated with increased bone resorption and a loss of bone matrix.

Chromatography of Plasma Proteins on Immobilized Cibacron Blue, Procion® Red and Procion® Green: Use for Purification of Alpha 1-Proteinase Inhibitor

1985
Abstract The purification of α 1 -proteinase inhibitor from human plasma by affinity chromatography on Procion R Red, Procion R Green, and Cibacron Blue immobilized to Fractogel R TSK HW 65 was studied. Differences in the specificity of some plasma proteins to these dyes could be revealed.

Procion Red MX-3B-Derived Poly(HEMA/EGDMA) Microspheres for Removal of Cadmium Ions

Analytical Letters, 1998
The heavy metal pollution is becoming more and more serious an environmental problem throughout the world due to rapid industrialization. Heavy metals such as cadmium and mercury exhibit human toxicity at extremely low concentrations. Poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate/ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) [poly(HEMA/EGDMA)]-Procion Red MX-3B microspheres were ...

Removal of procion red mx-5b by electrochemical technologies

2014
The textile and paper industries require large volumes of water and produce effluents that contain large quantities of organic compounds and inorganic salts and have high COD and colour levels. In particular, due to the presence of reactive dyes, colour removal is the major problem in dealing with these effluents.

Studies on the interaction of cibacron blue and procion red with dopamine β-monooxygenase

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1981
Abstract 1. 1. The interaction of Procion Red HE3B and three isomers of Cibacron Blue with the water-soluble form of the copper enzyme dopamine β-monooxygenase (3,4-dihydroxyphenylethylamine, ascorbate: oxygen oxidoreductase (β-hydroxylating), EC 1.14.17.1) was studied by enzyme inhibition, difference spectroscopy and binding of enzyme to the ...
