A semi-empirical approach towards predicting producer gas composition in biomass gasification.
Bioresource Technology, 2019The paper provides a comparison of five distinct models, often used in thermodynamic equilibrium modeling that allows the study of feedstock effect on gasification process. The five models were thus formulated and solved using MATLAB software.

Immunology of Archaebacteria That Produce Methane Gas
Science, 1981The antigenic map of 17 methanogenic bacteria representing the entire range of available species was determined by multiple assay with antibody probes. Four major clusters of antigenically related strains coincide with the families proposed on the basis of 16 S ribosomal RNA analysis. Immunological mapping uncovered

Gas lens laser produced plasma
Applied Optics, 1989A gas lens is used to focus a megawatt ruby laser beam on to a target to create a plasma. By using focal plane photographs and Faraday cup plasma diagnostics, the focusing ability of a gas lens is compared with an equivalent glass lens. In this experiment the gas lens compares favorably when the laser beam has a divergence of ~1 mrad.

Parallelization of photocatalytic gas-producing reactions
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2015High-throughput screening has been widely utilized in the pharmaceutical and manufacturing industry targeting the development of new molecules and materials for numerous applications. To enable more rapid progress in photocatalytic water-splitting reactions, the construction of high-throughput combinatorial photoreactors enabling the parallel ...

Gas-producing clostridial and nonclostridial infections
The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1979Clostridial infections have always been treated promptly and aggressively on the basis of history and Gram's strain. We believe that nonclostridial infections with similar fulminating, septic courses also should receive as prompt and radical treatment and perhaps more so, as hyperbaric oxygen therapy is of far less benefit in a nonclostridial infection.

Gas Embolism Produced by Hydrogen Peroxide
New England Journal of Medicine, 1967HYDROGEN peroxide has come into common usage in the treatment of neonatal intestinal obstruction due to inspissated meconium since Olim and Ciuti1 described its use in 2 cases of meconium ileus in 1954. Although authors over the past ten years have shown that dilute solutions of hydrogen peroxide function well for this purpose when given by enema or ...
