A Bivariate Model based on Compound Negative Binomial Distribution

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Estadística
A new bivariate model is introduced by compounding negative binomial and geometric distributions. Distributional properties, including joint, marginal and conditional distributions are discussed.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Product Bessel Distributions of the First and Second Kinds

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2007
A new Bessel function distribution is introduced by taking the product of a Bessel function pdf of the first kind and a Bessel function pdf of the second kind. Various particular cases and expressions for moments are derived.

Statistical Properties and Different Methods of Estimation of Transmuted Rayleigh Distribution

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Estadística, 2017
This article addresses various properties and different methods of estimation of the unknown Transmuted Rayleigh (TR) distribution parameters from a frequentist point of view. Although our main focus is on estimation, various mathematical and statistical

Order Statistics of Inverse Pareto Distribution

open access: yesComputational Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, 2022
In this paper we study the distribution of order statistics of the inverse Pareto distribution. We consider the single and product moment of order statistics from inverse Pareto distribution. Also, we establish some recurrence relation for single moments

Characteristic polynomials of random matrices

open access: yes, 1999
Number theorists have studied extensively the connections between the distribution of zeros of the Riemann $\zeta$-function, and of some generalizations, with the statistics of the eigenvalues of large random matrices.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Magnetic dipole moments of the hidden-charm pentaquark states: $$P_c(4440)$$ P c ( 4440 ) , $$P_c(4457)$$ P c ( 4457 ) and $$P_{cs}(4459)$$ P cs ( 4459 )

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2021
In this work, we employ the light-cone QCD sum rule to calculate the magnetic dipole moments of the $$P_c(4440)$$ P c ( 4440 ) , $$P_c(4457)$$ P c ( 4457 ) and $$P_{cs}(4459)$$ P cs ( 4459 ) pentaquark states by considering them as the diquark–diquark ...

The Retrieval of Drop Size Distribution Parameters Using a Dual-Polarimetric Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
The raindrop size distribution (DSD) is vital for applications such as quantitative precipitation estimation, understanding microphysical processes, and validation/improvement of two-moment bulk microphysical schemes.
