COSTS AND PRODUCTIVITY ESTIMATION IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING ECONOMICS

The Engineering Economist, 1996
Abstract This work presents a review and critical analysts of the principal costs and productivity estimation method in management information systems, i.e., function point analysis. Following this, two new models based on this method, the IFPUG model (1992) and the SPR model (1991) will be applied and evaluated according to their sensitivity and ...

Overview of simulation tools for computer-aided production engineering

Computers in Industry, 1999
Due to increasing demands on efficiency, quality, and flexibility in manufacturing companies today, it has become very important to structure the development process of manufacturing systems. This process, for example, could be supported by using models, architectures, and simulation tools.

An Extension of Engine Weight Estimation Techniques to Compute Engine Production Cost.

1979
Abstract : As a follow-on to previously developed engine weight estimation work, a preliminary design engine cost estimating code has been produced. The code relies on engine thermodynamic characteristics and weight as computed by earlier developed codes to select raw material types and quantities required to produce the engine.

Computer Aided Production Engineering for Simulazion in Manufacturing Process

2001
CAPE (Computer Aided Production Engineering) development and consolidation were useful for a correct definition of the concept of Digital Factory and were also an extremely interesting application to solve the needs of a correct production planning and optimisation of interactions among the components of an industrial system.

The engineering computer library (ENGLIB) an APL system for increased engineering productivity

ACM SIGAPL APL Quote Quad, 1983
Choosing APL as the primary environment for engineering computer usage requires careful consideration of the extremes of computer usage sophistication, amounts of computation and storage, and types of computer programs. A system of APL workspaces is described which enables a small group of engineering technicians to provide appropriate computing ...
