A cross-sectional population survey on the consumption pattern of berries and berry products in Finland.

open access: yesSilva Fennica, 1989
The study is based on a questionnaire sent to 5,000 randomly sampled persons representing the adult population in Finland. The results give a picture of the amounts of berries preserved for home use and the consumption patterns of berries and berry ...

A non-archimedean Ax-Lindemann theorem

open access: yes, 2017
We prove a statement of Ax-Lindemann type for the uniformization of products of Mumford curves whose associated fundamental groups are non-abelian Schottky subgroups of $\mathop{\rm PGL}(2,\bar{\mathbf Q_p})$ contained in $\mathop{\rm PGL}(2,\bar{\mathbf

Subgroups of free products with amalgamated subgroups: A topological approach [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1973
The structure of an arbitrary subgroup of the limit of a group system is shown to be itself the limit of a group system, the elements of which can be described in terms of subgroups of the original group system.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Conjugacy Separability of Some One-Relator Groups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2010
Conjugacy separability of any group of the class of one-relator groups given by the presentation ⟨𝑎,𝑏;[𝑎𝑚,𝑏𝑛]=1⟩(𝑚,𝑛>1) is proven. The proof made used of theoretical combinatorial group methods, namely the structure of amalgamated free products and some ...

Choosing an effective food classification system for promoting healthy diets in Thailand: a comparative evaluation of three nutrient profiling-based food classification systems (government, WHO, and Healthier Choice Logo) and a food-processing-based food classification system (NOVA)

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition, 2023
IntroductionThis study aimed to assess the nutritional quality of food and beverage products in Thailand by comparing four different food classification systems: the nutrient profiling-based food classification systems by the Department of Health (DOH ...

Free subgroups of free products and combinatorial hypermaps

open access: yes, 2019
We derive a generating series for the number of free subgroups of finite index in $\Delta^+ = \mathbb{Z}_p*\mathbb{Z}_q$ by using a connection between free subgroups of $\Delta^+$ and certain hypermaps (also known as ribbon graphs or "fat" graphs), and ...

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Identifying the Food Sources of Selected Minerals for the Adult European Population among Rice and Rice Products

open access: yesFoods, 2021
The problem of dietary deficiency of several essential elements among different stages of life is still observed. The consumption of whole grains (among others unprocessed rice) is recommended as a part of a healthy diet. This research aimed to determine

Normal Subgroups of Groups which are Products of Two Abelian Subgroups [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1973
It is shown that if a group G = A B G = AB , where A A and B B are Abelian subgroups of G , A ≠ B G,A \ne B , and either A A or B B satisfies the maximum condition, then there is a ...
