Expression of Membrane Progesterone Receptors (mPR/PAQR) in Ovarian Cancer Cells: Implications for Progesterone-Induced Signaling Events

open access: yesHormones & cancer, 2010
The high mortality rates associated with ovarian cancer are largely due to a lack of highly effective treatment options for advanced stage disease; a time when initial diagnosis most commonly occurs.

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Membrane progesterone receptors localization in the mouse spinal cord.

open access: yesNeuroscience, 2010
The recent molecular cloning of membrane receptors for progesterone (mPRs) has tremendous implications for understanding the multiple actions of the hormone in the nervous system.

Integrated Single‐Nucleus Multi‐Omics Atlases Reveal Lineage Plasticity and Regulatory Networks of Luminal Epithelial Cells During Mammary Gland Lactation and Involution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study integrates single‐cell multi‐omics, spatial transcriptomics, and cross‐species comparative analyses to systematically characterize the cellular composition and differentiation trajectories of goat mammary epithelial cells, along with the gene regulatory networks and intercellular communication mechanisms governing these trajectories, thereby

EDNRA Forms a Positive Feedback Loop with the Hippo/YAP Axis to Drive Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Endothelin receptor type A (EDNRA) and the Hippo/YAP pathway form a self‐reinforcing loop that sustains triple‐negative breast cancer. EDNRA activates YAP through Gαq/11–Rho/ROCK–LATS signaling, while YAP/TEAD4 reciprocally drives EDNRA transcription.

Immunohistochemical study of androgen, estrogen and progesterone receptors in salivary gland tumors

open access: yesBrazilian Oral Research, 2009
The aim of this work was to study the immunohistochemical expression of androgen receptor, estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor in pleomorphic adenomas, Warthin's tumors, mucoepidermoid carcinomas and adenoid cystic carcinomas of salivary glands ...

Immunohistochemical Expression of Estrogen and Progesterone Receptors Identifies a Subset of NSCLCs and Correlates with EGFR Mutation

open access: yesClinical Cancer Research, 2009
Purpose: To determine the frequency of estrogen receptor α and β and progesterone receptor protein immunohistochemical expression in a large set of non–small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) specimens and to compare our results with those for some of the same

Intratumoral Hypoxia Triggers Mitochondrial BHLHE40 ROS Sensing Pathway to Promote Radioresistance in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypoxia triggers a dual mechanism for BHLHE40 upregulation: reactive oxygen species (ROS)‐dependent post‐translational modification and hypoxia‐inducible factor (HIF)‐dependent transcriptional activation. Under hypoxic conditions, mitochondrial BHLHE40 accumulates and senses ROS via cysteine thiol oxidation and disulfide‐linked homodimer formation ...

p53, estrogen and progesterone receptors in diagnostic curettage for endometrial adenocarcinoma and their correlation with morphological data and disease stage at hysterectomy

open access: yesSão Paulo Medical Journal
CONTEXT: Diagnostic staging is an important prognostic factor for endometrial adenocarcinoma. Apart from the histological type and histological grade, some markers seem to be associated with the stage and biological behavior of the disease.
