Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Is tax funding of health care more likely to be regressive than systems based on social insurance in low- and middle-income countries?

open access: yesLecturas de Economía, 2013
One of the main functions of health care systems is to collect enough revenue to finance health expenditures. This revenue can be obtained through different sources (taxes, social insurance contributions, out-of-pocket payments, donations), each of which

THE POTENTIAL EFFECT OF RED DRAGON FRUIT (Hylocereus polyrhizus) PEEL ETHANOL EXTRACT ON ENDOMETRIOSIS PROGRESSIVITY IN ENDOMETRIOSIS MICE

open access: yesJurnal Kedokteran Hewan, 2018
The aim of this study was to know the effect of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel ethanol extract at dose of 0.25, 0.5, and 1 mg/g bw on endometriosis progressivity, signed by granuloma, on mouse model of endometriosis.

Heterogeneity, transfer progressivity, and business

open access: yes, 2023
This paper studies how transfer progressivity influences aggregate fluctuations when interacting with household heterogeneity. Using a simple static model of the extensive margin labor supply, we analytically characterize how transfer progressivity ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
