Online scheduling and project scheduling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis presents new and improved scheduling algorithms for a number of scheduling problems. The first part of the thesis deals with two online-list scheduling problems, both with the objective to minimize the makespan. In these problems, the jobs arrive one by one and the decision maker has to irrevocably schedule the arriving job before the next ...

Resource dedication problem in a multi-project environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
There can be different approaches to the management of resources within the context of multi-project scheduling problems. In general, approaches to multiproject scheduling problems consider the resources as a pool shared by all projects.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Penyelesaian Permasalahan Penjadwalan Aktivitas Proyek dengan Batasan Sumber Daya Menggunakan Metode Cross Entropy

open access: yesDinamika Rekayasa, 2014
Project scheduling is essential to be planned before activities. Standard methods of project scheduling based on precedence constraints scheduling events and the assumption that resources are not unlimited capacity.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Static scheduling in consideration of resource categories in collaborative product development project

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
In collaborative product development project plan phase, a reasonable allocation plan can shorten project duration. Static scheduling is a useful way to obtain the allocation result.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

A fuzzy pert approach to evaluate plant construction project scheduling risk under uncertain resources capacity

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Engineering and Management, 2009
A plant construction project always involves lots of activities. Precise information about the activities duration is unfortunately unavailable due to the uncertain resources capacity.

An overview of recent research results and future research avenues using simulation studies in project management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper gives an overview of three simulation studies in dynamic project scheduling integrating baseline scheduling with risk analysis and project control. This integration is known in the literature as dynamic scheduling.
