Maintenance Scheduling for Buildings Using Fuzzy Logic Application

open access: yesLontar Komputer
This research proposes an innovative approach to building maintenance scheduling using fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic addresses uncertainty and complexity in decision-making processes concerning prioritizing and scheduling maintenance tasks. This study aims to

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Tropical optimization problems in time-constrained project scheduling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We consider a project that consists of activities to be performed in parallel under various temporal constraints, which include start-start, start-finish and finish-start precedence relationships, release times, deadlines, and due dates.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Online scheduling and project scheduling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis presents new and improved scheduling algorithms for a number of scheduling problems. The first part of the thesis deals with two online-list scheduling problems, both with the objective to minimize the makespan. In these problems, the jobs arrive one by one and the decision maker has to irrevocably schedule the arriving job before the next ...

Weighted Multi-Skill Resource Constrained Project Scheduling: A Greedy and Parallel Scheduling Approach

open access: yesIEEE Access
This study addresses the Weighted Multi-Skill Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem (W-MSRCSPSP) with the aim of minimizing software project makespan.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...
