Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

Changes in the frequency and degree of dominance of native and alien species in the synanthropic vegetation of the vicinity of Maykop (Republic of Adygea) over a three-year period (2021–2024)

open access: yesТрансформация экосистем
This paper discusses the potential of a new approach to monitoring dominant species in plant communities. Instead of focusing on single dominant species, the study analyzes complexes of these dominants, i.e., multiple species that share dominance across ...

Pathways and pitfalls: a qualitative study of student experiences in biomedical science education

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biomedical science students from underrepresented backgrounds face barriers including financial strain, disrupted laboratory access and cultural exclusion. Peer networks provide vital support when institutional systems are difficult to navigate. To create inclusive learning environments and achieve academic success, educators should blend active, hands‐

The Phytocoenotic Role of the Understory in the Development of Natural Regeneration and Ground Vegetation Cover in Scots Pine Forest Stands of the Shepetivka Polissia Region

open access: yesНаукові праці Лісівничої академії наук України
The influence of the understory on the formation of ground vegetation cover and natural regeneration of tree species was investigated in 56–90-year-old Scots pine forest stands of the Shepetivka Polissia.

Ground beetle (Coleoptera, Carabidae) spatial distribution in a meadow catena

open access: yesActa Biologica Sibirica
The spatial distribution of ground beetle species in a meadow catena in Udmurtia was studied for the first time. The material was collected using pitfall traps, and the data were analyzed through multivariate statistical methods. Species distribution was

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral
